The Drake Equation is a statistical estimate of how many other planets there may be life on in our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and also be discoverable by us. In that equation, one needs to estimate, among other things, the probability that life (in any form) arises at all, if that life then develops into intelligent life, and the probability that it then reaches a technological era. It is only then that that life becomes "detectable" through all kinds of radiation that a technological civilization cannot avoid "spilling" into space. One must also take into account an estimate of how long such life is technological, i.e. not how long that life survives as life per-se, but only how long it is (technologically) viable. Of course, you answer all questions completely anonymously and all answers are treated completely confidentially and a re subject to secrecy for research purposes. The only thing we have is an automatic script that prohibits a device with the samwe MAC-address to do the questionnaire mote than once. No person will however neither see nor be able to save a MAC-address. That's not a completely solid solution for stopping individuals from answering the questionnaire more than once but other than authentication with Bank-ID(Sweden, Login.gov(US), WeChat(China), Aadhaar(India) or GOV.UK(UK)...etc which might scare individuals to answer, its sufficient for our needs and statistical significancy.
